ROCKHAMPTON

Riverfront & Alleyways

The riverfront precinct of Rockhampton has been transformed in recent years. The riverside shared roadway allows pedestrians & drivers to take in the scenery along the Fitzroy River, while also acting as the backdrop to many of Rockhamptons oldest buildings. Quay Lane (a small laneway directly behind this scenic roadway) takes a page out of Melbourne’s book, with brick-and-mortar buildings telling a tale of a forgotten time, while also exhibiting modern-day traits, like graffiti art & modern renovations.

This is one of our favourite parts of Rockhampton. We recommend taking some time out to stroll along the riverbank and surrounding alleyways while sipping on a locally brewed coffee from any of the surrounding cafes.
